3 Do's and 3 Don'ts for a Naturally Beautiful Skin

Beautiful skin requires commitment, it is not a miracle.

Despite what type of skin you were born with, if you take care of it well you will be rewarded, and if you don’t, the skin will show that right back to you!

Your skin has the ability to tell stories about your life without even you having to speak. Whatever the mood that you are in, whatever that goes in your life both physically and mentally, your skin will be one of the first things that will reveal it to the world.

So here in this article, I decided to give you a few quick tips on how to maintain a naturally beautiful skin.

1. Hydrating

Do –

I know you have heard this over and over again since you were a child, but to maintain a youthful skin that stays healthy and radiant, YOU NEED TO DRINK LOTS OF WATER! (Sorry for the shouty capitals, but this cannot be stressed enough).

Stop making excuses about how you “forget” to drink water and put a reminder in your phone to hydrate yourself in regular intervals if needed.

Oh, and invest in a good moisturizer - you will thank yourself (and me!) later.

Don’t –

When I tell you to stay hydrated, it does not mean that every drink that you can find around you will have good results on your skin. For an example, drinks like soda, beer, and hard liquor can have very adverse effects on your skin – meaning they would actually dehydrate your skin if you do not counter those effects with enough water.

2. Cleaning

Do –

Let your skin breathe at the end of an exhausting day by cleaning it well with a soft cleanser. Always follow the golden rule of never going to sleep without taking your makeup off. Go for a deeper cleansing of your skin like a good facial treatment at least once a month with the help of a professional, or even from everyday products you find around the house like yogurt, lime and saffron (I will discuss with more details in a future article) .

Don’t –

When cleaning your skin, especially the sensitive areas on your face, treat it like you are handling something very fragile – because even though you may not see the damages visibly, practices like frequent hard exfoliation can cause extreme harm to your skin. It can lead to dehydration and quicker aging/forming of wrinkles on your face as well.

3. Stay active

Do –

Regular workouts and healthy diets that usually go along with them can make a lasting difference on your skin. When you are active, your skin will have a healthy blood flow which will naturally add that rosy glow and shine to your skin.

Don’t –

When you do go out for a run, do not forget to apply a good sunscreen with a high SPF count to keep your skin protected from the harmful sun rays. Also, do not forget to practice a good skin care routine (at least some minimal cleaning and moisturizing) for your skin as well.

To sum up, drink lots of water, stay clean, stay active and don’t forget to follow a good diet plan to get that naturally beautiful skin you always wanted!
