Just three months into the year, 2018 has already made its mark in the fashion world for the bold and daring looks that graced red carpets so far. As a time of change and transition in Hollywood, there were many strong political statements made by Hollywood A-listers through their fashion as well – with the #MeToo and “Time’s Up” movements strongly represented in Golden Globes red carpet where almost everyone was donned in black. Golden Globes this year was all about the power of women and the need to acknowledge it. This black Prada number worn by Diane Kruger made us think about a female superhero with its beautifully placed black cape detail on the back. The cut of the dress was sultry and feminine. She opted to her signature smoky eyes and soft nude lips, which added even more subtlety and glamour to the overall look.

The lady from the multi-award-winning Lady Bird showed up to the Globes in an Atelier Versace dress with clean lines and cuts, keeping it simple yet stunning. The dress had an architectural vibe to it with the silver detail near her shoulder and the waist, and Saoirse Ronan kept her makeup and hair minimal to let her sharp natural features shine through.

This list is not complete without Janelle Monae, who just kills every single red carpet that she is in. Keeping to the female empowerment theme and breaking boundaries, Janelle wore this stunning suit by Dolce and Gabbana to the Grammy’s red carpet. It helped that her hair and makeup were totally on-point, too!
