Top Health/Beauty Must-Haves For Chronic Pain Sufferers

It is hard to feel fabulous when you suffer from a chronic pain condition.

The all-over body aches drain your energy and make it incredibly difficult to even move, let alone try to look fantastic. But even on those days where you are feeling extra icky, there are things you can do and use to help boost your mood and make you feel almost like a normal human being again.

Epsom Salt Lotion

I live with a chronic pain condition called fibromyalgia, which makes my muscles sore and my skin itchy and feeling like its on fire. One thing I found to help relieve this is epsom salt lotion from Dr. Teal’s, which can be found at any local Walmart.

The lotion comes in a variety of soothing scents like lavender and chamomile, but aren’t overpowering for those who are sensitive. They also have a foot cream, which really helped me keep going while working eight-hour days seven days a week at a factory.

Dry Shampoo and Conditioner

Trying to take a shower can be a horrific experience when you are constantly hurting. All that bending and twisting to wash my body is incredibly tiring. Plus, the shower stream for me feels like I am getting hit by a taser. Taking a bath only makes my pain worse trying to get in and out of the tub.

So I try to avoid it whenever I can. But I still have to get clean so I resort to sponge bathing most of the time. I can wash my hair in the sink but then again, it hurts my back and neck. That’s where dry shampoo and conditioner can be a savior. Just rub both in as needed to keep you feeling refreshed.

Magnesium and Turmeric Supplements

It’s important to take care of your inner body as well when dealing with chronic pain.

Turmeric is useful for treating inflammation and magnesium helps with muscle pains, spasms, and aches. Take one of each every day and, in a few weeks, you will notice a difference in how you feel.

Music Therapy

So far, every suggestion has been about treating the outer body for chronic pain. But what about treating your mind? Your brain is responsible for sending the constant pain signals all the time. It could use a bit of distraction with the use of music therapy.

What helps me with my chronic pain is binaural beats with isochronic tones. This type of music helps calm pain, reduces stress, and boosts mood. I use it mainly at night to help me get to and stay asleep.

You can find tons of binaural beats with isochronic tones music for free directly on YouTube. You can play it softly in the background during the day and at night to help insomnia. It works best if you wear headphones but you don’t have to in order to get the benefits. Expect it to take a couple weeks before you see any improvements. Think of it as a workout for your brain

These things won’t make your chronic pain disappear completely. But they will help you feel a lot better overall. And that will help give you more energy and focus towards living the fabulous life you truly deserve.
